Friday My Town Shoot-Out: Aged & Weathered

Today's theme, Aged & Weathered is the brain child of Pauline. There are a couple of shots that I really wanted for this week but I had a flat tire today and wasn't able to go get them. Maybe they'll fit into a future post. You can hop on over to http://paulinespaddock.blogspot.com/ to see what she came up with.

Now a residence, this was once property of the Coast Guard. You can see the sign still hangs on the side. It is definitely aged & weathered. See the moss on the roof?! I wish I could remember the history on this place.

Here are some old bottles in an old window of an old house.

I don't know how comfortable I would be boarding this boat. It is an old wooden commercial boat that has seen better days.

Thanks for stopping by! I love your comments. Also, see the camera for a list of other participants in this photo scavenger hunt that shows off our hometowns.

In Houston I had bottles in the window of the bathroom, when the sun came through in the ofternoon it turned the room different shades of blue and red, love it. the old rusty boat is the best example of old and weathered. hugs from Brasil

Hi Carrie. Thanks for overcoming all odds. Enjoyed the shots, especially, the coast guard tower. All of us should have the My Town song on our blogs. Enjoyed that, too.

Gordon - the song fits, doesn't it?

J9- At one time that house would have had a great view but the pine trees have grown pretty tall and there are now houses between the coast guard house and the beach.

Ginger V. - it sounds like a substitute for a stained glass window!

Love the old Coast Guard building! Not so keen on that boat, though. I certainly wouldn't go to sea in it! I enjoyed your photos.

Great shots! Imagine the stories that the Coast Guard place could tell...

Great photos! Everything gets so weathered, so quickly near the shore. Love the boat shot.

Excellent photos - the first one and last one are my favorites.

It looks like there are holes in the boat and water is linking from them. Wild horses can't drag me to the boat. LOL

Great photos of the aged and weathered.

Not sure if I would feel safer in the precarious coast guard look out or on the boat. Tough call. Nice shots.

I think I would like your town...too bad it is so far away. Maybe someday. Nice shots, I like the precariously perched coast guard look out. That would be a little scary. Oops - I'm logged in as my son by accident. It should say from Rebecca @ thedustycellar

This is a really great post. The peeling paint is charming and the old boat looks as if it has some stories to share. The coast guard post has certainly seen better days. Thanks for sharing these great pictures!

Love these! Those bottles in the window -what's the story I wonder behind those...and the coast guard building, how does that little room stay up there like that?

What beautiful pictures...I love the shot of the Coast Guard building. That boat looks a little on the sketchy side, but it has such an interesting look. Well done!
